Another month, another batch of job titles that most people would never think to search for. These are real postings I found that caught my eye because of how different they are from traditional bedside, retail, or hospital based roles. If you are trying to pivot out of clinical work, sometimes the hardest part is just knowing what to type into the search bar. That is where this list helps.
I pulled roles across several specialties so you can scroll straight to your background and get ideas fast. Not every job here will be a match for everyone, but almost all of them prove that your license still has value even if you never want to work directly with patients again.
These posts also will tell you what companies are looking for in an employee. Even if you don’t currently have the experience needed for these roles, at least you know now what you can focus on to be hirable in the future.
Patient Access Liaison, Pain Interventions – Medtronic
Remote, Charleston or Greenville SC region
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree + 3 years in healthcare access. Clinical credentials preferred
Salary: $64,000 to $96,000 plus incentive plan
Travel: Territory based travel required

Highlights: Reviews complex medical claims, provides litigation support and delivers medical training to claims teams
Why it is unique: A non clinical role that blends nursing knowledge with claims evaluation and legal strategy
Care Management Supervisor, Corporate Appeals – BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina
Remote
Requirements: RN or licensed healthcare professional. 5 years healthcare experience plus leadership exposure
Highlights: Oversees utilization review and case management functions within appeals
Why it is unique: A leadership position within insurance care management for nurses ready to step into oversight and quality improvement, and and also work outside of the hospital
Patient and Site Engagement Operations Specialist – IQVIA
Remote
Requirements: BA or BS with 3 years clinical trial support experience
Salary: $62,800 to $157,100
Highlights: Supports trial operations, vendor coordination, budgeting and patient program execution
Why it is unique: A behind the scenes research role focused on patient engagement rather than data entry or monitoring
*This role does not specify nursing, however I felt that nurses would be fantastic candidates for this position, especially if you have clinical trial experience.
Senior Medical Affairs Specialist – B. Braun Medical
Hybrid. Center Valley PA
Requirements: Bachelor degree plus 5 to 7 years hospital pharmacy experience and pharmacist license
Highlights: Responds to product inquiries, supports product safety, contributes to incident documentation and educational material
Why it is unique: A medical affairs role for experienced pharmacists who want scientific communication without dispensing
Pharmaceutical Regulatory Consultant – Apsida Life Science
Remote 12 month contract
Requirements: BS or PharmD with 5 years regulatory experience
Duration: 12 month contract. Part time (0.4 to 0.6 FTE)

Why it is unique: A pharmacy tech role inside a med tech startup at the ground floor of diabetes tech innovation
Member Services Specialist, Medication Access – Maven Clinic
Remote
Requirements: 3 years healthcare or insurance support plus experience with coverage navigation
Salary: $76,000 to $96,000 plus stock
Highlights: Helps patients navigate GLP 1 medication access, insurance, pharmacy coordination and benefit investigations
Why it is unique: A digital healthcare access role for pharmacy support and care navigation without retail or bedside pressure
*This one does not specifically require a CPhT; however I believe that your experience in dealing with insurance and in customer facing roles, you would be an ideal candidate.

Requirements: BS in life sciences and lab experience
Salary: $62,000 to $67,000
Highlights: Conducts virus clearance studies and manages equipment for filtration and purification
Why it is unique: Great entry into bioprocess industry for lab people who want field work and growth

Remote with onsite customer training
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree plus ARRT CT certification and 5 years experience
Highlights: Educates customers on CT workflow, supports installs and collaborates with sales and R&D
Why it is unique: Clinical applications path for RTs who love teaching and imaging optimization
Image Quality Control and Processing Specialist – Perceptive
Remote in select states
Requirements: Imaging technologist certification preferred
Salary: $51,139 to $94,973
Highlights: Reviews trial imaging, performs quality checks and manages DICOM data for research studies
Why it is unique: Radiology meets research data. No patient lifting or scanning.
Operations Support Specialist – Real Radiology
Remote, evenings only
Requirements: ARRT with radiology knowledge
Highlights: Supports teleradiology workflows, QA for reports and communication with radiologists
Why it is unique: A radiology ops role for techs who want remote structured work outside of scanning rooms. For people who like working nights but want to do so from home.
