Are you a CT technician with a passion for education and expertise feeling burnt out and ready for a change? Siemens Healthineers is looking for a CT Clinical Education Specialist to join their team, providing training and support to medical staff across various healthcare facilities.

About Siemens Healthineers

Siemens Healthineers, part of the technology company Siemens,  is a global leader in medical technology, offering innovative products and services that empower healthcare professionals to deliver precise care. From imaging systems to diagnostics and therapy, Siemens Healthineers focuses on advancing healthcare delivery to improve patient outcomes. You might even be using Siemens equipment in your current job.

What Does a CT Clinical Education Specialist Do?

In this role, you will be responsible for educating healthcare providers on the effective use of Siemens Healthineers’ CT imaging systems. As a CT Clinical Education Specialist, your goal is to ensure that technologists and radiologists are fully trained on how to operate CT equipment, optimizing its use for patient care.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting in-depth training sessions for radiology staff, helping them understand the full capabilities of Siemens Healthineers’ CT systems.
  • Customizing educational programs based on the specific needs of each healthcare facility.
  • Providing ongoing support to ensure radiology departments feel confident using the equipment.
  • Collaborating with clinical and technical teams to ensure smooth integration of new CT technology into the workflow.

Who Is the Ideal Candidate?

This role is ideal for a healthcare professional with a background in CT technology who loves teaching and interacting with other healthcare professionals. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience working with CT equipment and be able to communicate complex technical information in an accessible way.

Key qualifications include:

  • Clinical experience with CT imaging technology. You MUST have a valid ARRT Certification/Licensure in Computed Tomography. They would prefer you have a Bachelor’s, but it is not required!
  • Strong ability to communicate and educate others on technical processes. On your resume, be sure to include any inservices you may have led, or your experience in educating patients and their families.
  • A passion for improving healthcare workflows and patient outcomes. Any experience in Quality Improvement should be highlighted on your resume, especially if you were on any kind of product evaluation team for your department.
  • Flexibility to travel, as this role involves working with different healthcare facilities across regions.

Some downsides:

  • There is a LOT of travel; on the job post, it states up to 95%, including overnights. If you have family commitments, the heavy travel may be challenging to manage.
  • I am unsure of the size of the territory. On the job posting, it just says “southeast”. From my experience, that could mean 2 states or 10. The size of the territory could definitely impact the amount of overnights.
  • The salary isn’t posted, so I am unsure how this would compare to your current pay. However, a quick Google search suggests some promising numbers. Check Glassdoor (link), just remember that this is NOT a guarantee, just what others have reported.

Why Siemens Healthineers?

Working as a CT Clinical Education Specialist with Siemens Healthineers provides you with the opportunity to not only work with cutting-edge technology but also to share your knowledge and help radiology departments maximize their efficiency. You will be able to use your hard-earned clinical knowledge, Siemens Healthineers is known for its supportive culture, fostering professional growth while maintaining a commitment to healthcare innovation.

By guiding healthcare teams in the proper use of advanced CT systems, you’ll play a crucial role in improving diagnostic accuracy and patient care.
